It is indeed a form of modification only the artfull ones would appreciate as it resembles them in shadow. Its purpose to display self-recognition and belonging may despair some but it definitely mesmerized me. Through its handwork and concentration to produce one is a remarkable journey to form this bizarre piece. It may serve as a rites of passage, marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, pledges of love;punishment and protection. It has been practiced since 5000 years ago, mummy's era..hehe...those who created it are to be respected as they're bravery with a touch of creativity had since change the future's adults.
